Indoor Air Quality
Often overlooked, indoor air quality (IAQ) is a very important part of a healthy home. If moisture is left unchecked in a home, it can contribute to the growth of molds and bacteria as well as actually deteriorating your home through dry rot. If you have ever walked into a room and thought “it smells musty in here”, that may be a moisture issue. Bacteria, molds and viruses thrive in a fairly narrow temperature and humidity range. Outside of those ranges, they don’t thrive nearly as well.
Indoor air quality is really fairly simple and relatively inexpensive to address and correct. It can be corrected by addressing:
Mechanical Ventilation | Air Exchangers
- Heat recovery ventilators (HRV)- generally used in the Pacific Northwest
- Energy recovery ventilators (ERV) (similar to HRV’s, but for warmer climates
Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV)
Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)
Enhanced Media Filters and Air Purifiers
- Enhanced media filters (4″ or 5″ high)
- Air purifiers (electronically kills molds, viruses and bacteria)
Enchanced Air Purifier
Air Purifier
Humidity/Moisture Control
- Humidifiers – generally used during the heating season
- Dehumidifiers – normally used in high humidity conditions
If you can effectively control the source of the moisture, you can generally solve most indoor air quality issues. Solving these issues should make you and your home more healthy and keep you more comfortable as well.
We have a variety of products that will address and correct most common air quality issues in a residence or business.
